Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), a non-destructive in-situ quality inspection of products at various process stages. Current AOI Capabilities are inner and outer layer artworks, epoxy via fill, laser blind vias, and automated 2D measurements. Inspections of inner and outer layers artworks that contain features under 25 um, including developed Photoresist. The laser blind vias and epoxy filled vias are inspected down to 50 um diameter holes. Automated 2D Measurements are capable to measure linewidth and spacing ranging from <25-900 um wide and with a +/- 5 um accuracy*. All Products and inspection types are inspected to comply with the appropriate IPC Class unless otherwise specified by customer. *Dependent on surface conditions.
When critical defects like opens, nicks, shorts, and protrusions are found at AOI, Automated Optical Shaping (AOS) is used to repair these types of defects. AOS contains an internal laser module that is capable of ablating or depositing copper to the specified defect locations. We employ AOS as allowed by the customer.
